Connection Problems

Hello Richard,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
We will check and help you with this issue.
Did you try to change the AVG Secure VPN server location to Gotham city or Wonderland and then check if it helps?
Advanced users can customize the VPN protocol settings via ☰ Menu ▸ Preferences ▸ Experimental.
The following options are available:
Automatic (recommended): Where possible, AVG Secure VPN connects using the the IPsec protocol. If connection via IPsec fails, the application automatically switches to the Mimic protocol.
IPsec: AVG Secure VPN always connects using the IPsec protocol.
Mimic: AVG Secure VPN always connects using the Mimic protocol. This is useful in countries with restrictions on VPN use, where IPsec may be blocked.
NOTE:Some routers have the option to enable or disable IPsec, sometimes displayed as VPN passthrough. For AVG Secure VPN to work properly using the IPsec VPN protocol, IPsec or VPN passthrough must be enabled in your router settings.
Thank you and keep us updated.

Avg secure VPN is useless, I've subscribed to a 2month free trial and I can't even connect to any servers. Tried to fix it by uninstalling and installing, changing the DNS server even restarting my pc . It's just a piece of trash.

When I try to connect to the VPN it either connects for a short time or it won't connect and I get a "Cannot connect to BPN" troubleshooting popup.  When I select the troubleshooting option I get the results in a foreign language (Japanese, maybe?).   The problem is getting worse.

I can't find any way to contact AVG technical support.   I'm using a MAC.  Can anybody with similar experiences chime in?

I have attempted multiple sites in Europe, the US and Canada.  I've also rebooted my computer many times as well.  Nothing I do makes any difference.  I'm not familiar with IPsec or Mimic protocols.

Since changeing IP address locations does not help, what other options do I have, other than to cancel the service?

Thanks, Rich
