Constant pop-ups and ads

I frequently get pop-ups at the most inconvenient times about various insignificant things from AVG. 

The most recent annoyance was yet another notice about web tune up. I've declined this every time and don't know how else to indicate that I have no intention of ever enabling this option.

Is there a secret to ending the AVG harassment other than uninstalling?
