Constant threat notifications for isolated threats

I am getting the AVG protection window popping up constantly, like every 10 minutes, telling me there are detected threats that need to be removed; however, the link is alwasys the same and no matter how many times I say 'remove' the window pops up again 10 minutes later. Extremely frustrating when trying to complete important reports and I find my typing has been stopped to accommodate the 'threat' notice…How can I stop it happening??
