Hello Luca,
I appreciate your effort in resolving this issue. The Virus Quarantine is empty because the threat/files is getting detected by AVG before the files gets fully downloaded. However, in this case I request you to change AVG Firewall network profile to private (open AVG Internet Security > menu > settings > components > firewall > customize > network profile > change all the network public to private), please go to Firewall customize settings again > scroll down > click on system rules > enable all the system rules if it's not configured, please click OK and check if you can access all the websites with enabled AVG Internet Security. After that, I request you to enable PUA's (please open AVG Internet Security > menu > settings > general > check the box PUA's) and run a AVG boot time scan (Open the AVG user interface on your desktop, and click the gear icon next to Scan Computer > run Boot- time scan).
Best regards,
Alok.
Hi, I'm suffering the same problem. Free version running an a macbook air
Elaine,
I regret to hear about that but I have checked the support webpage from my end and it is working fine. Please use a different web browser or connect to a different internet connection and try to contact our technical team.
I would also like to clarify that program update is different from upgrade. You are using 2016 version of AVG now, we recommend you to upgrade it to 2017 version with help of our technicians.
Hello First,
I am sorry to know that you are facing the same issue.
The reason for asking the screenshot of the threat detection popup is to check the exact file name as it differs in each case.
If you are getting the same threat detected popup with the exact file name as discussed here then please give us a confirmation.
We will provide steps on how to proceed further.

Hello Bryan,
I am sorry to hear this.
Are you using business edition of AVG?
Karthikeyan, this is what you need?
Same situation here! and all AVG support does is ask for screenshot thousands of times when this is a widespread issue. It was working fine until it upgraded to the latest version and asked me to restart the PC. And I got the popup ever since the reboot. AVG really sucks now.
I too am getting exactly the same error, so I do not intend to waste my time sending a screenshot. My settings has no PUA's check-box option, so that piece of advice is unwelcome.
I will put up with this nonesense for a few more days before removing AVG from my system completely.
Regards,
Chris Searle

Héctor, For your info, just in case that you are unaware, you can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
@ Karthikeyan (AVG Technologies)
Karthikeyan, I don't think there is a 'free version' of AVG Business Edition actually available.

Bryan - i am having the same issues, were you able to get this resolved?
I have the same issue. I'm using free version.
The virus quarantine is empty, I do not know what files to put in the exceptions.
This happens totally at random (Yesterday did not happen). But I noticed that every time that warning appears (It happens more or less twice a day), there was an update of virus definitions (streaming update)
hello i also got this problem, i am using PAID avg internet security version 17.5.3022 and virus definition 170824-6
- AVG Version: Internet Security (30day free)
- I did the scan and did not find anything
Same situation here! and all AVG support does is ask for screenshot thousands of times when this is a widespread issue. It was working fine until it upgraded to the latest version and asked me to restart the PC. And I got the popup ever since the reboot. AVG really sucks now.
Hello Luca,
I am sorry to hear that. Please go to the location that was detected as threat and add that file to AVG exception list. Once you add this file to exception list(http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-make-exclusions-from-all-scans-and-shields), please check if that resolves this threat pop-up issue. If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.
