For six or seven days now I have been having updates from AVG on a daily basis. This is seriously affecting the performance of my computer. Furthermore, AVG have stopped sendong notifications of scans and updates (scan starting/finishing & update ready for download) even though all relevant boxes are still ticked. Is something going on with AVG? Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did they resolve it? Any help would be appreciated as AVG constantly running updates in the background is driving me nuts.

Following your link for the remover tool takes me to my downloads. The only AVG file there is avg.free-stb-2011-1321.cnet. When clicked it says it already exists and do I want to replace it. If I click yes will it direct me to the remover tool. I have to say this does not look quite right to me.
