Hello Joseph,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
The legitimate Firefox and Thunderbird shouldn't show as threat by AVG.
This should be a False Alarm, however we need some information so that we can confirm it.
May I know the name of the AVG program that you have installed on your PC?
Also mention whether it is a free, paid or trial version and confirm us whether you have the latest 2016 version installed.
We request you to update your AVG program once and check whether Firefox and Thunderbird is detected as threat by AVG.

AVG is repeatedly finding threats from firefox and thunderbird. Are these real?

Sorry about the double posting. I got confused as to how to respond to you. Anyway - an error on the hard drive was reported and after I cleaned that up everything seems to be working okay.
