Could you share the screenshot of error appeared for virus definitions update?

My AVG keeps telling me my virus definitions are not up to date, but every time I try to update, it fails -- says: "Release date was invalid date (ver. 200405-0)."

This just started yesterday. I even completely reinstalled AVG Free and restarted, but same thing keeps happening.

Appreciate your efforts in sharing us the screenshots, Bruce. 
Upon checking it, we see that you're experiencing this issue with Avast program & this support channel is for AVG products. 
Avast has their own subsidiary (support channels). In this regard, we'd suggest you to raise a request to them via this link
