Hello Philip. Yes, AVG will detect your default web browser and protects it.
I would first like to have my original question answered. For example, will AVG Free detect a random, incoming virus while I'm using a new browser (installed after the initial AVG installation)? I only visit safe, dependable sites, yet in the last year, AVG has stopped trojans twice. Since I've just started using a new browser, Firefox, I wonder if AVG "knows" and is providing the usual protection for that browser.
I have just installed Firefox as my new default browser (in place of IE8). Will AVG Free 2015 automatically detect the new browser and protect me as before, or must I reinstall? (I have kept IE8 on the system.)
