CPU overheating

Hello Richard,

This isn't the usual behavior as AVG won't consume this memory usage.

It could be possible that there were some older traces of AVG left over on your PC which may caused the issue. If you could co-operate, we will remove the traces of AVG and install the latest version of the program.

We can check the status and escalate it if needed. Thank you.

My computer has randomly shut down (once loosing important work) due to the CPU over-heating.
I realised that for no reason it was due to the CPU running at 80% to 100% .
I became suspicious of AVG particularly when it kept nagging me to pay monthly for a 'tune-up' service.
I've uninstalled AVG and am now using other well know anti-virus/security software.
The problem has gone - my CPU now runs at around an expected 10% to 30% and no longer shuts down.
Has anybody else found the same? Are there any other forums where I can ask the same more widely?
