CPU usage after AVG update

Hello Gillian,
I apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please go to control panel of your PC and check if there are 2 AVG Protections installed in your PC. If so, please remove the older version of AVG protection by running AVG Remover tool as per the steps mentioned in this article ( http://avgread.me/1DEtNP0 ). If you don't find 2 AVG Protections, then please repair AVG Free Antivirus as per the steps mentioned in this article ( http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY ).
Then click on AVG dashboard->Antivirus->Menu->Settings->Troubleshooting->Uncheck "Enable AVG Self Protection Mode" and keep us informed about the status.
Thank you.

Ever since the latest AVG update, battery life of my PC has gone downhill enormously! So I tried to stop AVG whenever I'm off line, which I could not through Task Manager and I can't see any settings either (like there were in the pre-update version) to temporarily stop AVG using settings in AVG. Anyone with helpful suggestions?
