Crashed anti virus scan running for three days now at 2%

Hello

I had the same problem last month and posted here and got the support needed to remove and reinstall

Same problem has returned, I started an anti virus scan, I run one every time before I switch off the PC, three days ago, it stalled at 2% whilst scanning rootkits, again, and is still stalled at 2%.

About to head out and won't be back until later, any help, again, very much appreciated. I'm running Win 10 with AVG Internet Security

Thanks again, did another uninstall/reinstall and carrying out a scan now

Made mistake of not ticking PC Tuneup during the uninstall as the problem was with the internet security aspect but seems to be running ok again.

Any idea what could be causing my scan to hang like this?
