How ever your solution did not work well. I got it back on long enough for an update, then it caused a crash,after switching back on I got what I had before,no coverage. tried it again, with the old license number-- got some screen message about it being a trial !! Now its disapeared off my desktop, and in programs its left me with blank space where it was !! So it seems I have paid for something that dosen't even exist any more !!

Have had AVG for a couple of years now, no problems and seemed to do it's job very well. Renewed with extra components before due date.I am not computer literate. My computer now crashes with a geeky windows message that only stays on screen too short a time to decipher it! what I have gleaned from it is it sugests I turn of my new installed AVG !!, The new AVG interface tells me I am not protected, windows tells me its turned OFF. Interface shows a component missing which I have Paid for.Been told by AVG reactivate section that new license is not compatable ? !!! AND HEAPS MORE PRBLEMS. I just want my computer back !! I don't want geeky answers that I cant follow in a language i don't GET !! I just want to switch it on, press a button and get on with my day. Not have to get a degree in computer techs! You have my money AVG. Fix IT !!

I would request you to run AVG remover tool based on your OS (32-bit or 64-bit) to completely remove AVG and then re install.
