The answer to all your questions is the AVG paid version is a peice of Crap.
I went back to the free version and most everything is fine now that they have worked out most of the bugs in their new App friendly version.
When I first unistalled the paid version and installed the free version my computer started slowing down to a crawl. I finally downloaded the free version of WiseRegCleaner and found that AVG left behind over 7,100 Registary errors when it was unistalled. I cleaned the registry in about 30 seconds and now my Windows 7 runs perfectly. I think they do this on purpose so you will call them for more help and they can get you to buy the paid version once again.
I HATE the AVG paid version, but I love the AVG Free version. I have been using it for many years,

My problem has not been resolved…
I received a customer survey asking if I was satistisfied with AVG
I replied no and outlined the reason why.
Since then…nothing.
Does that mean the survey is only a PR excercise.
I have 1 year of a contract left but NO AVG

Sorry to know that your PC got crashed after running our app to get the remote support but this kind of issue hasn't happened at all. After running the app it will just open up a chat window through which a remote expert will get connected. So did you face issue after getting the remote support or only after running the app?
What is the current situation of your PC? Have you created the System Restore for your PC?

I have not yet applied it becuase as of now I have not got AVG installed on my PC
It was removed on advice from this forum
The reinstall tool will not work for Windows XP running Service Pack 2
Service Pack 3 is unobtaiable.

How was the original AVG download implemented when my PC has always had SP2.
