Data Safe affects Scan

I have noticed that if the AVG DataSafe is open when a scheduled scan starts, the green progress bar does not appear. Everything else on the screen looks OK and the magnifying glass image moves. Eventually the scan report is written showing the scan completed, but the scan screen does not indicate completion.
Submitted next is an image showing four screenshots. Time stamps can be seen on each of the scan screens.Top-Left is during a scan on Nov. 22, 2017 about an hour after the scan was started. Progress bar is at 65%. The DataSafe is closed.
Bottom Left shows the scan report for the morning of Nov. 24, 2017. The scan started at 8:25 AM and finished at 10:11:17 AM. Top-Right is during the scan on Nov. 24, 2017 about 6 minutes after the scan started. No progress bar, 0% progress. Bottom-Right is during the scan on Nov.24, 2017 four plus hours after the scan started. Still nor progress bar, 0% progress even though the scan report file shows the scan over two hours ago. I had to manually stop the "scan".

As long as I close the Data Safe the scan proceeds normally. I just wanted to bring this to someone's attention. It may be causing a problem I do not recognize.
