Deep scan not completing

There was no message from AVG or Mac. No other security apps on my system apart from one that acts as a gatekeeper to browser cookies (Privacy Badger). 

In the end it, the deep scan completed but - once I'd started the scan and gone to another application - I made sure not to return to click the AVG icon and return to the AVG window to check the % progress bar. A few times before, the scan DIDN'T complete if I left it alone in the same way; it just reaches a certain stage and then hangs. (I will have to try the deep scan again to see if the success last time is repeatable. Either way, something's not quite right).

This isn't the usual behavior of AVG program. Let us work towards fixing the issue.
Do you get any message from the AVG or from Mac?
And also check if you have any other security applications installed in your PC.
Let us know to assist you further.

I'm running the free version of AVG on a mac (10.14.6). I've been trying unsuccessfully to run a deep scan for a week now. 

The scan gets to a certain percentage and then just resets. Or I browse away from the AVG screen and then, when I go back, it resets to zero. 

I have just uninstalled and reinstalled but the problem is still happening. Browsing around, this seems to be quite a common problem - is it solved by getting the paid version of AVG? (it shouldn't be).

Please uninstall and reinstall AVG AntiVirus on your Mac computer and check if that fix the issue.
