Smart Scan works fine. Deep Scan goes to 30% and *BOOTC: Then a screen pops up that says "Loading This shouldn't take long." Then I get a message that all is OK but DEEP SCAN is still running in the background. And it seems to loop, going from 0% to 30% and back again. I did REPAIR. I also did a BOOT TIME SCAN, and it told me I had 6 files that were decompression bombs, and 6 files where the ZIP archive is corrupted, one being Flight Simulator X and 5 being C:Windows\Installer\86ea6e.masp etc. I've also received several messages that AVG crashed. This seemed to happen after I downloaded PC Mover Professional and I updated my VLC Media Player.

I too have this EXACT same problem that started a few days ago. I too have AVG, decompression bombs, corrupted archives especially in Steam Games, FSX being one of them. Mine is on 77% and rising but has suddenly crashed in the past.
I feel it is a rootkit virus of unknown not seen before type, probably from Steam. I had an error that shows when trying to run War Thunder that "aces.exe File corrupted! This program has been manipulated and maybe it's infected by a Virus or cracked. This file won't work anymore. [OK]
Firefox doesn't work.
Steam doesn't work.
Windows doesn't work.
Debian 11.1.0 Live USB doesn't work!
BIOS time is corrupt.
Windows gives driver errors.
Hard drive check came back as OK.
AVG shows no viruses.
Firefox says "C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/MSVCP140.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original instalation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc000012f."
Linux just up and freezes on loading Steam.
Due to this being just before Christmas and Steam being reported twice by tao seperate people I think it is a Steam related cause. Even Steam on Debian gave a crash so it can't be the HDD, either OS, driver, etc. Kt has to be a new virus of somesort.

Hi, Subhashri,
Thanks for getting back to me. After I posted this, I had a long call with an AVG technician (Anil) and we couldn't solve the problem–tried a lot of things. He decided to passed it along to the T2 team. I'm waiting to hear from them.
Thanks again,
Reid
