I understand your concern. I request you to repair AVG Protection (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG) at first, and reboot your computer once. After reboot, please check if AVG deep scan is available.
If it's not then, please share a screenshot of the scan options to assist you further.
You can post the screenshot here on your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
