Also, check your hard disk for 'avgui.exe' and 'avastui.exe' files, remove if found and restart your PC.
Now try to update Windows and check if that works.
Could someone please help? I downloaded an AVG Antivirus Trial version a while ago now and then decided to uninstall the programme. Unfortunately there seems to be files or components still left on my PC (Windows 10 O/S), These are stopping me from Updating my computer and I have been told by someone in the Microsoft Community to: go into Regedit/Computer/Find/AVG and delete anything relating to AVG. I have done this today and I thought this had the sorted the problem out - but no, I'm still unable to update my computer. I did try the AGV Clean (?) to see if I could clear out all files that way but that failed as well. Any ideas?
