Deleting from Quarantine

We will look into it. Please share the screenshot of quarantine list and deleting process to have a better understanding.

Let us know the exact name and version of AVG you have installed. Open AVG Antivirus/Internet Security -> Menu -> About -> check its version.

I am unable to delete viruses which have been placed in quarantine. I get the pop up which tells me AVG is deleting the files but the process never seems to complete, even after running for several hours. How should I resolve this?

I should also mention I am using a MacBook Pro running High Sierra (version 10.13.6)

We appreciate your efforts in sharing us the screenshots, which provided a better clarity. Upon checking them, we see that you're running an older version of AVG on your MAC. Hence, this could be the possibility for this to happen. In this regard, we'd suggest you to reinstall the program once to check if it helps. To do so, follow the steps in below articles :
