Deleting needed extensions because they are 'badly rated'

Hello James.

My name is Jovana, and I work as a senior support representative for AVG. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

Regardless of whether the feedback is positive or not, we always take it into consideration and use it to improve our services, thus creating a better overall experience for our customers.

Even though I wasn't here five years ago, reading the topic you mentioned made me completely understand why this occurrence frustrates our users.

I went through the entire topic, collecting all of the information and screenshots that users provided to us. I've then forwarded this information to our specialists so that they can discuss it further with the development. I cannot promise any changes at this time, but I can assure you that the relevant teams will be engaged and aware of the situation.

I'll notify you as soon as I receive an update.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, it's truly appreciated.

For over 5 years, AVG has ignored a need in its user community. See How to remove "1 poorly rated browser extension found!" | AVG. Many screen shots have been received from many clients who all ask the same question: Will AVG give us the option to whitelist or ignore an extension that AVG says has a 'low rating' rather than just an option to skip it ON THIS RUN. As I have stated before, many extensions are complex to configure and consequently have a low rating. That has NO relavence to its security aspects. Will AVG actually recognize this as a problem before my renewal date comes up next month or not? I note that a number of others have dropped AVG over this in the past. I am NOT sending another screen shot; AVG has received a number of them from me and others. The problem appears to be ignorance of what we, the users, need and not a technical concern. Please advise before my subscription renewal date next month.

Hello again James,

I hope this message finds you well.

Our specialists shared the feedback with the developers, who are currently working on a new version of Smart Scan.

It is still uncertain that the scan will have an exception option for browser threats, but they are aware of your and other users' feedback, and they'll certainly have it in mind for future updates.

Thank you very much for understanding, and for sharing your experience with us.

Feel free to reach out again if you need any other help.

Enjoy the weekend!
