Deleting Virus takes forever

Hello, Nicky.
Quarantine in AVG AntiVirus Free is a safe place for storing potentially harmful files. Quarantine isolates such files from the rest of your operating system, and prevents the files from being accessed or run by any outside process, software applications, or viruses. You need not to worry about the files that are already moved to quarantine folder.
However, you should not face any issues with deleting the items from quarantine. Please restart your Mac once and then try to remove it.

HI, I have the AVG Antivirus running on my MacBook Pro, and a couple of days ago when i ran a scan it found a threat called JS/Downloader.Agent. I immediately moved it to quarantine and tried to delete it. However, the program popped up a message saying "Deleting files… this may take a while." with a spinning circle,User-added image but although I've left this running for well over 10hours, this process never seems to end, and the virus still just sits in my quarantine. how can i delete it?
