3 folders or shortcuts disappeared from my desktop after or during this morning's AVG update. They aren't in the Recycle Bin or on Quarantine. Windows 10. Any idea where they might be?

23.7.3294 (build 23.7.8348.439) No other changes. The folders/shortcuts were simply missing from the desktop
It might have been an auto scan interrupted by a power failure.

Initially, we'd like to clarify that an AVG Internet Security program update will not delete any program shortcuts in your desktop.
Could you specify whether only program shortcuts disappeared or their corresponding program files disappeared as well?
Do you have any other antivirus software installed in your computer other than AVG?
Also, mention the names of the shortcuts that disappeared from your desktop.
