Initially, we'd like to assure you that an AVG update will not cause blurry desktop icons.
Please specify the name & program version of the AVG program that was updated.
Also, did you restart your computer & check for the issue?

After running AVG update, Windows 10 Desktop icons are blurry and unclear.
