I am sorry to hear that. Please be informed that by default when the AVG program gets installed the shortcut of AVG will be created. If it is not created, then please open the C:\program files(x86)\AVG\AV from here right click on the AVG exe file and select created shortcut in desktop and that should fix the issue.
I don't have an AVG\AV. I have AVG\Antivirus, and there are several .exe files in there.
Why can't I create a desktop shortcut for AVG Antivirus free? I'm running WIndows 7 on a Dell Inspiron 1545.
Ellen, you can see an exe file with the name "AVGUI". Please right click on this file and select "Send to->desktop".
