AVG provides pop ups regarding other AVG programs in order to improvise the existing program. However, it also allows us to disable the notifications by :
Opening AVG - Menu - Settings - General - Personal Privacy - Uncheck 'Show pop up offers for other AVG programs'

I am a fully paid-up subscriber to both AVG Internet Security and AVG TuneUp.
Despite that, I frequently get huge great pop-ups telling me my privacy is at risk, my location is exposed etc. etc… It's all part of the push to get me to purchase AVG's VPN service, which I do not want. They get enough of my money anyway.
I've looked through all the settings in AVG Internet Security, and under "Notifications" the only relevant option seems to be to turn off all notifications, alerts and messages. I don't want to do that, because obviously I want to be notified of any significant concern regarding a virus etc. on my system.
Surely there must be a way to turn off advertising pop-ups? They're far too intrusive, and simply unacceptable in payware. If they want to bombard me with advertising, then email is much easier to ignore, which is what I would do.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of advertising pop-ups only?

I hadn't realised that option would be tucked away in the "Personal Privacy" section. It would seem much more logical to me if the "pop ups for other AVG programs" and the "3rd party app" notification choices were actually moved to the Notifications section of the settings, as I'm sure that's where people would naturally look for them.
I've turned off these two options, so I'm now hoping that's done the trick.
