How to disable password protection?
Hello Charles,
Please be informed that, AVG password protection couldn't be turned off temporarily.
It works along with the AVG Internet Security program and hence, if you uninstall internet security, password protection will get removed.
Unfortunately, it would get activated as soon as you reinstall and activate AVG Internet Security.
We would like to know why you wish to disable AVG password protection?
When I come back both of my computers they have 20 or so small windows screaming BREACH. Most of the time I have to reboot to get rid of them.
When I try to click to see what has been breached, there is no way to see the actual breach…leaves questions as to whether something has actually been breached.
When I click Resolve it takes time to bring a list of passwords that ‘password protection’ does not like and wants me to change all 200 or so of them. I don’t agree or want to change all my passwords which have served me well.
I use Firefox Lockwise which protects my passwords and shares them across all my devices. This Protection program is interfering.
On one computer I changed to browser to review to Chrome, which I rarely use. I will put Chrome on the other and hope to stop this.
I use an algorithm for my passwords which your program does not like, but I do.
Any other ideas to stop this would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Chas McKeown

Charles, AVG Password Protection is included in your AVG Ultimate Multi-device package and it will automatically gets activated once you install AVG Internet Security on your PC.
Unfortunately, it cannot be opted out. I'd request to click 'Resolve' and give it some time.
Charles, thanks for confirming.
If you are not interested in taking the AVG Password Protection advise and update the passwords, please ignore the results.
I have hit resolve. It tells me to change about 200 passwords. Would you do that?
2 solutions I can think of:
1- download Chrome, let it look at that with no passwords in it. ( a work around)
2- go to setting in your AVG app and tell it to bookcases request from the AVG Password Manager.
What do you think?
thx,
Chas
Did you receive the breach messages from AVG Password Protection?
Could you share a screenshot (http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot) of these messages?
