Thanks this works. I was pretty sure I had disabled any and all notifications on both the virus scanner and tuneup. Must have missed this one or not saved it.

You can disable this notification from AVG TuneUp settings. Follow the below steps to disable the notification.
Open AVG TuneUp –> click Menu –> select Settings –> click Notification –> uncheck "When a sleeping program wakes up" option below Background and startup programs.

I have recently installed and activated AVG TuneUp. It recommended a number of applications being put to sleep. Now whenever I start eg Acrobat Reader I get the notification that AVG Tune up has woken up Acrobat and it will put it down to sleep when I'm done…
This putting to sleep and waking up should be part of a invisible background process and should not bother me as a user ever again! Is there a setting that I can change so I won't see this message ever again? At this point I prefer if TuneUp never puts an application to sleep, just to stop the incredibble nagging from the AVG branding department.
