Disablilng Popups

Back and forth started June 19.  Would you guess. . .

Followed AVG's instructions on saving a screen shot; sorry to report that those instructions don't accomplish the task.  Sorry.

AVG, if you have better instructions, I'd be please to provide a more recent screen shot, or a .doc, .pdf or htm file.

Well, Dinesh, some more misdirection.  I unchecked "Show pop up offers for other AVG products" a couple of days ago, and what happened? This morning, another pop up offer for other AVG products. Your direction was to "Managing privacy settings in AVG products." Then, a link that's a dead link!! Yikes!!

I can figure this out, but when a customer unchecks "Show pop up offers for other AVG products," that should stoppop up offers, shouldn't it? Sorry to say, it doesn't work; or at least, this morning, it doesn't.

How about AVG just being more straightforward and transparent about how to stop this foolishness. AVG has developed a terrific solution; why get customers steamed on account of AVG continuing on this misguided road to sell more, more, more, by intruding on our space when we start the morning?

Hi Larry,

We're glad to help you with your request.
From your description, we see that you're looking to disable notifications from AVG regarding other AVG programs.
It can be done by : Opening AVG - Menu - Settings - Personal Privacy - Uncheck 'Show pop up offers for other AVG products'
You can also check this article which has the screenshots & steps to : Disable notifications
Regarding the article, which you've checked might be for the older version of AVG.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!

I've read the message strings from users complaining about the popups on AVG Internet Security.  I have a paid subscription, and these popups are very annoying.  I don't have a problem with AVG trying to market additional functionality; but I do have a problem with AVG trying to hide how you turn off this the popups for additional functionality.

I tried following AVG's instructions on managing popups, but the screen shot and instructions AVG provided on its site don't match what appears on my screen.  So, there's no link to "popups" once I get to settings/general.  The misdirection is not well taken; AVG, you can be more forthcoming with your customers.
