Over the years this program has been degrading itself. When I first bought it, it was a wonderful program. But… Now it's become a royal pain when it doesn't work properly.
For a few months features tend to disable themselves for no reason.
Let me explain. I had my system off for a couple days due to being gone. No no one else lives with me.
Come back home turn pc on. AVG loads and it's pink. Telling me I need to reboot.
So I did, until I saw a pink icon which means it's off. Ransom ware protection. Now I never even touched it.
This isn't the first time avg has acted up. With numerous reinstalls and consent fixing errors has made this program very unstable and quite annoying to fix.
I am at the point do I really want to bother paying for another subscription.
When things disable itself and program just breaks and doesn't work and you spend your entire day trying to get one thing to work doesn't make sense to me.
You guys really need to fix these problems. Unless I have a unwanted ghost in my house then AVG program must be broken.
REINSTALLING the program isn't a fix. After a few months it starts acting up again.
I have got better things to do with my time then to fix things that are broken and the company refuses to fix.
If this doesn't get resolved I'll have no choice to cancel my subscription. I need something that works not break on its own
own.
Hi Mike,
This isn't the experience we want you to have. We understand why you'd feel this way.
The possibility for this to happen could be another antivirus installed on your computer, which conflicts with AVG & corrupt the AVG components.
Please check the programs list on your computer & remove any other antivirus (if installed). To do so : Goto control panel - Programs & Features - Programs.
Also, let us know if you've performed a clean installation using AVG Clear or Remover tool. If not, we're glad to help you with it.
However, we need to know the version of AVG installed on your computer. (Open AVG - Menu - About) or version could be seen in programs list.
It tells me their are security problems please reboot to fix. Which I've done several times, and does nothing.
Even though the damn thing has worked all this time until I turn on my pc after being gone for 2 days.
We've checked it & found that you're suggested to submit a false postive request if the file is not found in the mentioned location.
Would you be so kind to let us know if the file is located on your computer or if you've raised a false positive request?
I do not or ever had any other antivirus installed. The only component that's messed up is Ransom ware. Everything else is enabled.
