Dissabled protection message in red

I have just started a trial of AVG Drvier updater. Since downloading it I get a message in AVG Internet Security that my protection has been disabled. When i press the FIX NOW button nothing happens. I have restarted the computer 3 times but the message persists.
I have also checked to ensure Passive mode is not enabled.
What should I do next?

Driver Updater doesn't interfere with AVG Internet Security's functionality.
It seems that the program either awaits for an update or the downloaded patches are unable to get applied to the program.
Please let us know the version of AVG installed on your computer (Open AVG - Menu - About).
