From your description, it seems that the app requires admin privileges to run it. Please right click on the app & choose 'Run as administrator' to check if it helps.
If issue persists, let us disable AVG temporarily to check if it causes the issue.
To do so : Right click on AVG icon in system tray (near date & time, at bottom right corner) - you will get a window popping up showing that protection is on. Click on the toggle bar beside protection to disable.

DJI Assistant 2 use to open fine. Suddenly today it does not open. Message states: "This App has been blocked for your protection". I have uninstalled/reinstalled; still no go. I have gone into the AVG and set allow this App; still no good. I am the only user of the PC; and it says administrator has blocked me from opening this App… Help please

well, I did right click on the app & chose 'Run as administrator' but it still came up with the same message…
