I constantly lose my internet connection when the DNS server stops responding. Now AVG tells me that my Area Network Adapter is not trusted' I can't figure out how to change that - Surely that's crazy if AVG Internet Security is stopping me accessing the internet I also have VPN starting to think that might be the problem - I tried live chat but it's not working - Can you help please?
I reinstalled switched on 4 minutes later lost connection uninstalled connection returned
Hello Liz,
Is there a connectivity problem with your internet connection?
Did you check the status with both Wifi and LAN cable?
Are you able to visit sites without any issues?
Could you provide the screenshot of AVG message that says "Area Network Adapter not trusted"?
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.
I'm sorry but are you serious?? You patently didn't read my comments where I state clearly I don't have your products on my computer because I can't trust them - From many community members I see they are having the same problems with VPN and/or AVG warning 'Network connection NOT TRUSTED' now I suppose you'll ask for a screenshot ignoring the fact I have explained why I couldn't create one I have a photograph of the warning pop up but the file is too big to upload here.
This issue has been going on almost from the day I installed VPN - I've been an AVG customer for many years and my DNS server never dropped out (Diagnostic run gives this message) VPN and AVG internet security have caused untold problems and cost over a hundred pounds to fix. I had to have my whole operating system reinstalled.
If you read further up you'll see this was caused after one of your tech support uninstalled what was suggested to be an older version of AVG but I'd very recently uninstalled/reinstalled it myself. When the tech support restarted my computer it just died so I wasn't able to reconnect with him and he recorded I'd not reconnected with him. It took several days to have my computer repaired meaning I had and still have over 700 emails to deal with and in the reinstall I lost EVERYTHING on my computer and you want to take me back to where I started, No thank you this is very shabby treatment
This is absolutely outrageous. On Saturday I think it was I had remote access because I was receiving pop up notifications that my network connection wasn't trusted by AVG I had a remote access where one of your tech support deleted AVG and restarted my computer which went into meltdown. I took it to be repaired and it required a full reinstall of my operating system meaning I lost all of my documents photographs and all of my bookmarks and programmes. AVG/VPN have caused untold problems on my computer and cost me a fortune to fix. I expect to be recompensed for the cost of the repair and replacement of my programmes and compensated for the distress your programmes have caused. I've lost all of my personal data and information because of your tech support! I have been an AVG customer for several years and feel I've been treated very shabbily. I haven't reinstalled AVG or VPN which I now discover isn't even an AVG programme but one of six multinational companies who you contract to This is no way to run a business and I see that I'm not the only one suffering at the hands of AVG Please respond!
Thank you for checking that, Liz. If you have this post open, you can reload the page to see the new replies.
It is necessary to check why this is happening. Hence, we have sent an email for you to get connected with our additional support.

Yes I did I can't help that your tech support did access my computer remotely whether they logged it or not - Since I had to have my OS reinstalled I have no way to confirm that but your programmes have caused so many problems including over £100 on this occasion. The tech support was Ashok Kumar maybe that information will help you trace him and discover why it wasn't logged.

I didn't connect back because my computer was completely trashed when it started up again I had no access to any part of my desktop or any other control it was just the microsoft background. You didn't delete any documents or photographs I lost everything because the computer repair shop couldn't access the desktop so had to do a complete reinstall of the OS - It took several days to have it returned to me I only got back online today. You've not mentioned the financial outlay caused by this issue. As I said I have a photograph of the pop up saying that AVG internet security didn't trust my network connection I also had VPN installed and I believe the majority of the problems were caused by that. At the moment I have only Windows Defender and haven't had a single problem with my internet connection The DNS server hasn't once Not responded. I'm actually scared to put AVG secuirty onto my computer now. It's been several months probably since I installed the VPN - I don't see how it could have been an older version as I'd recently uninstalled both the Internet security and VPN and reinstalled them from the AVG desktop via my subscriptions. This wasn't the first time I'd had to take my computer to the repair shop because I believed I needed a new network card because AVG tech support kept telling me they couldn't find a problem. There was nothing wrong with my network card and the repair shop was able to get online without any problems. That cost £60 not including transporting costs. This time it was over £100 - I've seen many, many people having issues with VPN I know I'm not the only one.
Thank you for the information.
On checking your case history, we could see that our technician has found an older version of AVG Internet security in your computer. He has uninstalled the older version and restarted the computer but you haven't connected back.
We haven't deleted any of your photos or documents. If you wish, we can offer our remote support again to connect back with us.
We will help you to install the AVG Internet Security and check for the issue again.
This isn't the experience we want you to have, Liz. However, upon checking our records, we see that our colleague has ran the Remover tool to completely remove the traces of older version.
We understand why you'd feel this way. Regarding the message that you received, please share us the snapshot that you've with you for better clarity.
We've sent you an email requesting the snapshot. If it doesn't allow you to attach the snapshot to the email, please try to compress the file & attach it.
If you re-consider to use AVG, we're more than glad to help you.
