Document folder emptied

Hello Colin,

We do understand  that your concern but when you use the "Restore deleted files" feature of AVG PC tuneup it is possible to restore the accidentally deleted files but however, we can't assure you that you can make use of the all files that are being restored.
You can make use of only few number of files and also it depends on how it got deleted from your PC.
If it was deleted by you manually then there are good chances of restoring it and also can make use of it but if it got removed or altered due to some Operating System change then there are very less chance to make use of those files.
This criteria does not fall for only AVG PC tuneup restore feature, it abides for all of the programs that performs the restore of deleted files.
Please feel free to contact us should you need any assistance.

Thank you. The files were deleted by the computer itself for reasons unknown. I was looking for more of other possible reported instances of a new bug, or any ideas if it may be otherwise system related.  It is extraordinary that only the My Documents folder was affected, hence I am highly suspicious.

I have run rkill and unhide programs and all showed a clean list.

I run Windows 10 and  recently had my documents folder, and subdirectories, completely emptied. The directory structure was left. Upon trying to recover files using PC Tuneup I found most most files, but not all, but the majority had also been corrupted, including jpegs..  AVG Internet security recorded no threats from anything.

Any ideas as to the cause?

Thank you for writing back, Colin.
Please check if you did any changes to your PC before this happened like installing, uninstalling or updating any applications or windows updates. Please, feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance. Thank you.
