How do I find the version
I had to get on with my work. I have uninstalled AVG. This is an XP machine so your remote assistance would not work. If you can't tell me why AVG is locking up my documents I don't see the point in reinstalling it.

Why keep referring me to the support centre when it is inactive and even the phone number doesn't respond.?

Initially, we'd request you to disable the individual shields/components of your AVG Internet Security as mentioned in this article (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Disable-AVG-Antivirus) & check which shield/component is causing this issue.
Also, please check & mention the program version of your AVG Internet Security.

Midhun, You've replied to my email. but still no one will tell me why the program locks up my documents as read only… I can't believe this is a unique problem.
I'm sitting here with all my work disabled by your program. I have to get on with my work and at the moment I'm thinking of junking AVG entirely and uninstalling it in favour of a program that doesn' lockup my files without so muchas asking.
