SSL works on port 465 when I set up my Fixed host. However when I set up 587 for TLS on the Fixed host, I get the error "Send test email message: The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider.
I get the same error message for my own ISP email and Gmail, both which supports TLS on port 587
Nothing in the examples in your link mention TLS, only SSL. What version of TLS does AVG support? How can I see the actual commands it is sending to my SMTP servers?
I am unable to get the Outlook 2016 email client to connect to the AVG email scanner on 127.0.0.1 with TLS on port 587enabled inside teh AVG email scanner settings for SMTP. Does AVG Protection support TLS? SSL is deprecated is has security issues. If it does not, how soon will it be supported? If there are no plans, I may need to look elsewhere.

After checking the email headers coming out of sending mail to 127.0.0.1, it looks like AVG is sending the mail via TLS when configured with port 465. However both gmail and my ISP specify port 587 as the correct one to use TLS on. I notice that my ISP is only using TLS 1.0. It seems like a bug that AVG won't work with port 587. Prior to using AVG email scanner, my settings were set to my mail server with port 587 and TLS, which has worked fine for years.

Hello Henry,
We are sorry to know that the issue persists. In this case, plese try the port number 25 or 2525 for TLS connection and see if that fix the issue.
Thank you
