Does AVG work at all?

Hello Paul. I apologize for the inconvenience caused. To resolve the issue, I request you to follow the instructions in the email which I have just sent to your registered email address. Please feel free to contact us back for any further assistance. Thank you.

Hello Paul. Thank you for the information and I appreciate your efforts so far. As informed earlier, no anti virus program is capable of providing 100% protection even though AVG is working 24/7 to keep up against the latest threats. It seems your AVG program update schedule is not working fine. I would suggest you to uninstall and re install the program once. And with the password reset email issue, I would request you to visit https://myaccount.avg.com/ and create a new account with the same email address. Thank you.

Re install AVG again? It seems that every time I/we have a problem with AVG, your solution is to re install AVG.

The last time we did this solution, AVG's firewall slowed our network down to a crawl and I had to disable the firewall for weeks while your tech's logged in remotely time and time again trying to fix the problem.
I do not want to go thru that again, not unless your tech's know how to fix the problem straight away instead of wasting our valuable time poking around in our network untill you stumble upon the solution via blind luck.

Your right that no anti virus program is capable of providing 100% protection. AVG is proof of that. Microsoft's security essentials is showing AVG a clean set of heels and that anti virus program is free.

Im running AVG internet security 2015 paid on Win 7 64 bit. I've never seen AVG intercept any viruses or report fining anything so I downloaded MS's security scanner which finds two threats which AVG should have picked up.

So I try to log onto these forums to post about the issue, but I can't remember my password. I enter my e-mail adress and hit the "i forgot my password" and await the e-mail from AVG, and wait, and wait and still, wait. I hit it 3-4 times, check my junk mails, nothing.

LOL, the only e-mail I get is and automated "welcome to AVG support community" e-mail, prompted my logging in via face book. Nice to see AVG can send you the useless e-mails and never the important ones. Anyway, back on subject…

So it seems the only part of AVG that actually works is the e-mail spammer and the ability to help itself to your credit card and does nothing about viruses and malware and other "threats".

Useless AVG.
