AVG Guru
Eline,
Provide us the screenshot https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=How-to-create-a-screenshot&supportType=home of AVG user interface to check and assist you further.
Also, try to repair http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG your AVG Antivirus free and check if it helps.
My computer and AVG itself warned me that my computer protection isn't working. I looked into it, but when I look at the computer protection itself, it says "protected". But the pop-up with "Computer protection doesn't work" won't go away, even after deleting and re-installing AVG Free. Next to the pop-up, there is a button called "Repair now", but that doesn't work, nothing happens when I click that.
So does my AVG work or not? I don't understand anymore.
Thank you for providing screenshot Eline,
May I know if you have rebooted your computer after the AVG Free Antivirus repair? If not, then please reboot your computer once and check if your AVG Free Antivirus is working.
If the issue still persists, then yes I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG Free Antivirus.
You can follow the instruction ( http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product ) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool.
After the computer reboots, you can follow the instruction to download/install AVG Free Antivirus.
Best regards,
Alok.
It is in Dutch, but I saw that I can't change that unless I uninstall AVG and install it again. So I hope this will do? I already tried to repair, didn't work unfortunately.
