I just repaired the installation on a machine where either the scheduled scan was not being run run, or its last run time is not being displayed. I will check tomorrow to see if the scheduled scan is reported as running when scheduled.

The program reflects the last scan you have manually performed. Schedule scan won't be reflected in the "last scan" message.

I have 3 machines with the free version of AVG antivirus installed. Each is configured to run a Deep Scan at 3am every day. On all 3 of them the AVG app indicates that it was at least 12 days since the last scan. The machines are on permanently, and never sleep or hibernate. Do I assume that scheduled scanning is buggy and cannot be relied upon?
For both the machine mentioned in the previous message, and a second machine that was also displaying a long-past 'last run' date, repairing the installation did not fix the problem. Both machines are configured to run a deep scan at 3am. Both machines report that the last virus definition update was 'a day ago' (so they are both online), but neither indicates that a scan was performed at 3am this morning.
I'm losing faith in your product. An anti-virus program that doesn't reliably run malware scans is a liability, not an asset.
Looking online it seems that many other people have encountered this same problem with the AVG Antivirus software.
