Hello Rene, 

You may experience a slower internet connection when using AVG Secure VPN. This is because a VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.

You can try to change the location available in AVG Secure VPN and check whether you can see changes in the Internet speed. Thank you.

I have tried all different locations in the list. Nothing changed. Then I clicked OpenVPN and Mimic in "Experimental". That speeded up for a short time on my PC, but not my laptop. And it lasted for only a short time.

Hi,
After I activated AVG Secure VPN, my downloadspeed dropped dramatically from 357MB to 87MB on my PC.

Please advise.

Hello Veeramani,
I have tried different locations with the same result.  Speeds drop down from 360MB to less than 90MB. This happens on my PC aswell as on my laptop. Both are connected via cable.

Please advise.

Please try connecting to one of the P2P locations/servers available in the AVG Secure VPN & check the status. We'd recommend the 'Amsterdam, Netherlands' server as it's the nearest server to you.
