Hello Terence,

I understand that your download speed decreases drastically when used via AVG Secure VPN. Please let us know the location you have selected from AVG Secure VPN. Change the server to your near by location and check if that improves the download speed.

Hi,
Wondering why my download speed changes so much,from 38 mbps using normal browser. to 14 mbps when AVG secure VPN is activated,
Expected some decrease in download speed but did not expect it to be this much.
Using Plusnet fttc, and averaging 32-39 mbs during the day.
Any tips to  improve my download speed whilst using AVG secure VPN

My choice was New York
Have now changed location to London UK.
Download speed now is 28-30 mbps  much better.
I Thank you for your swift reply and solution.
I did not understand that there are so many locations to pick, but could be at cost to download speed.
