In this regard, we'd suggest you to perform a clean installation by following the below steps & let us know if it helps :
- Uninstall AVG from your MAC , if you've completed the installation process.
- Open Finder
- In menu bar select Go > Go to Folder...
- Type /Library/Application Support/ and hit the enter key
- Locate and delete AVG AntiVirus folder
- Reboot computer and AVG should be removed
- Download the setup file by visiting this link. Upon visiting the link, ensure that the locality isn't selected to any other region apart from worldwide or US. (You can check this with the flag icon displayed at top right corner in the above link - beside login to AVG account).

Just purchased AVG and have received the OK and activation code. BUT CAANOT DOWNLOAD as keep getting message. AVG Antivirus already installed, please uninstall the previous version first. But MAcBook not doing this - how do I uninstall?
