May I know the name of AVG program that you are trying to install?
On the expired program you can enter the purchased license and activate it so that the paid version will get installed.
On the expiry popup please look for the option as "CLICK HERE" if you have already purchased the license number, it will open a box to enter the license number, enter it and then click on activate.

I currently have an expired version of AVG installed on this computer. it will not let me download the paid version.
