I'm sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused to you. Do you have any older version of AVG program installed on your computer? If so, please visit http://www.avg.com/tools#tba2 to download the "AVG Remover" tool and run it to uninstall it. If you still have the issue, please follow the steps below.
1. Right click on the setup file for AVG.
2. Click on 'Compatibility' tab in Properties window.
3. Tick the option "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then select Windows 8 in the drop down menu.
4. Then try to run the setup file and install AVG.
