Downloads and download speeds when updating 2015 Internet Security

Hi guys,

Someone needs to sit up and listen :slight_smile: I'm past the point of frustration to the point of thinking I'm being defrauded.

I have been experiencing the same problem as I first mention since I had the misfortune to purchase not one but two more years of what I used to think was a good product.

During the time since downloading AVG Internet Security 2015 I have used three internet providers, Three, O2 and EE and I have experienced the same problem with AVG IS 2015 with all of them. Indeed all of them have told me the problem lies with you.

I do not have this problem with any other downloads but yours. 

You say that all your other customers are recieving normal speed downloads and I'm pleased for them but it does not alter the fact that in my case the speed is a rediculous 15 kb/sec and even that is only every other second of the download whilst each other second is taken up by (wrongfully) calcuating .the time remaining to completion. It is usually that many hours away that even the program cant keep sight of the end.

My automatic update downloads are coming from HTTP://av.downloads.avg.com/softw/15/updates/ followed by the name of the update and usually whatever number of bins (always around 110mb in around 20 bins) come on guys someones having a laugh and it isn't me!!! 

You thank me for my understanding but I don't.

I'll settle for my money back if you don't know how to fix your own products. I've suffered a year and a whole lot of data loss and I dont intend suffering another year of my contract without involving the highest authorities I can to resolve this wrong doing.

Please do the right thing  and give this matter your urgent and thorough attention. I will not be pushed aside.

Why do I feel that my problem doesn't seem very important to the very people who can sort it out. It's been 16 days since I first asked for a solution and i'm still waiting. All this time I have been unprotected by updates because I refuse being ripped off for a second year. Please refund my subscription for the current package of AVG 2015 internet security so that I can subscribe to Kaspersky as I did before this horrendous experience. My requests for advice were always dealt with in a very professional manner and turned around to completion in a matter of hours. This feels like its been dragging on for months and i've had enough.

A friend of mine is currently writing an article about the shan treatment dished out to customers of internet companies who take payment for thier services, sometimes years in advance, and having banked the cash the customer is just dumped with shoddy products and services. His editor has been asking me to contribute my own experiences and I must say that the opportunnity to get this of my chest is sorely tempting. My understanding of contract law leaves me with the knowledge that no breach can ensue so long as only the truth is revealed. Indeed a breach of contract has already been executed by yourselves and nulifies any obligation on my part to perform to any demands made past present or future. I suggest that this communique is also passed to your higher level team because the level I've been talking to up till now seem to be on holiday.

Please give me my money back and bring this farse to an end.

I tried your suggestion but still the download speed is only 14 - 15 kb/sec. This only occurs with AVG no other programs or sites. Has the http:/av.download.avg.com got anything to do with this. I.E. A premium site eating my data?

Still haven't heard anything!!

Hi all i've had since the 11th of October when I raised this issue is apologies and requests for patience.

You keep saying  "Our experts team are working on your issue. They will get back to you with a resolution ASAP. "

The resolution I think would be best for everyone is to GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK.

It's obvious that AVG don't know what they are doing!! A month in this day and age is like a year two decades ago. If you haven't sorted it by now I suggest either your systems were hacked and my product was corrupted to download from a pirate or more sinister than that even would be that my problem had been introduced deliberalty to extract premium download rates. I'm just speculating of course but should the need arise to sue AVG i'm sure the matter will be properly investigated by the right authorities. In anticipation of that possibility can you please supply me with the relavant details of AVG in relation to serving papers upon you.

and then try to download offline installation from www.AVG.com/download
and reinstall AVG internet security .
please let us know if you are facing slow download speed even after disabling AVG

Hi my download speed is only 15.0 kb/sec (yes kb its not a typo) when updating AVG internet Security 2015.
If I re-install the AVG program it takes seven hours at 15.0 kb/s

I've noticed that updates are comming from av.download.avg.com. Whats going on please?
