Downloads folder wiped out

Hello Darron,

I regret for the inconvenience.

When you run optimization from AVG PC TuneUp, this will remove files from downloads folder as well.

To change this settings, please open AVG PC TuneUp, click on "Free Up Space->System Cache and Logs->Uncheck Downloads option".

This will skip the deletion of files from downloads folder.

Similarly, you can select other locations from here in which you do not wish to get files deleted.

I decided to try the full version of AVG recently and immediately I am regretting it. AVG took files from my downloads folder and sent them to who knows where. I did not see a method to find where the files were relocated or if they were outright deleted. Using these forums, I found a method to restore deleted files, but it is exceptionally cumbersome and time consuming. I am a student and I had a lot of historical documents in .pdf form which all got sent into oblivion, and I had to wade through countless AppData files to get to what actually mattered. I am certain that the extreme majority of files removed were for the best, but so many were things I actively used! Is there a way to make AVG ignore certain folders when scanning for unnecessary files?
