AVG upgraded my AVG protection software today and the new program started using substantial resources (1/4 of total memory, >50% of CPU) and slowing down my computer (rather old and using Windows 7). I tried repairing the program using uninstall and restarting my computer but saw no improvement. I might have to uninstall AVG and look for another anti-virus software program if I cannot resolve the problem.
