I have had a big problem the last 2 days with when switching off Desktop the computer when going to sleep puts the display out but the computer stays on and the only way to switch it back on was to press the power button to switch off and then restart it, I got bluescreen a few times saying Driver Power State Failure but after all checks and troubleshooting nothing appeared wrong, I tried doing recovery on both refresh and full and it wouldn't do it, got so far and stopped, I even had a look at new computers seeing this is 6 years old, then after a restart the VPN didn't come on , so I just tried to put the Desktop to sleep and it did, then I thought back to doing the recovery and the internet status kept going to a globe and back, in the end I uninstalled the AVG VPN and now the Desktop is running fine so it looks like the VPN was the culprit , the strange thing is the VPN had run great for over 2 months, but 3 days ago Microsoft had done an update, do you think that caused the problem and does it just need a reinstall, or does the VPN need an update, any advice is appreciated.
sorted it, found out the windows update causing the problem of stopping recovery, now done a recovery with files kept and now the VPN is closing down.
Hello Michael,
I'm glad that your computer is back to normal. There is chance that a recent update from Windows might have caused this issue. You can reinstall AVG Secure VPN and check if everything works fine on your computer.
I have checked your account but unable to find any active subscription for AVG Secure VPN. Do you have your subscritpion under a different email address? If yes, we request you log in to your AVG MyAccount using that email address and install the latest version from your AVG MyAccount.
I contacted support 4 days ago, I have deleted 2 Windows updates what have been causing computer problems, I have been on Dell website and updated 3 lots of Intel drivers for chipsets, updated to the latest version of BIOS pus 3 more driver updates and still won't either go to sleep or shutdown when VPN is switched on, the tecnician reinstalled VPN and has sent zipfile to his seniors on Sunday, awaiting email for information, but haven't had the bluescreen since the updates, I have VPN on 2 other laptops and there is no issues, so how long dose it take to look at it from your end.
