I'm not sure if the AVG Driver Updater program was causing the issue or Windows/Microsoft. Either way, shortly before your post, I tried it again, and it succeeded, everything went through, and the Updater successfully applied a number of updates, so I suppose this can be closed. If it happens again, I will open a new ticket.
For the record, I have the AVG anti-virus (paid subscription).

I have the Windows Driver Updater utility, but for quite a while, it has been unable to complete its work, as it continually gets stuck on the last step of Requesting Windows Updates. No matter how long it attempts, it cannot proceed past this step. I've stopped the update and restarted it every time, but it will not complete past this point.
This has been happening for a couple months, come to think of it, but only today have I had a moment to report it.
