I am sorry to hear that the AVG program keep installing a duplicate protection. Please be informed that AVG Protection got updated to the latest 2017 version and ut seems that you have repeatedly installed the 2016 version which is being auto updated to the 2017 version. This auto update is not removing the older version and that is causing two protections in your computer. I suggest you to uninstall both the protections from your computer and install the latest version of AVG from this link: http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/Antivirus_Free_1817.exe and once the free version gets installed, please follow the below steps to activate this program to paid AVG Internet Security:
Open AVG AntiVirus free->Menu->About/info->Subscriptions->Enter the license number
Enter your AVG Internet Security license number and activate the product. This should fix all the issues. If you face any difficulties, feel free to contact us.

Have been using AVG for years. Currently using AVG Internet Security that was renewed in Jan 17. On June 6, noticed 2 AVG Protection programs on my computer. Uninstalled both and then reinstalled current AVG version. On June 10 the same thing 2 AVG protectionprograms on my computer, and then again today June 13. Uninstalled one version and then went to uninstall the other and received message:
The exception breakpoint.
A breakpoint exception has been reached (0x80000003) occurred in the application location 0x59a7ccd7.
Don't know what is going on and need help with how to fix this situation.
Thank you so much for your reply. It will be very helpful. However, I was able to uninstall one AVG version but I cannot uninstall the AVG version17.4.3014. When I try to uninstall this version (only one left on my computer), I get a message: 'Have run into a problem during installation with error code: 0xe0010002 (I am trying to uninstall it).' Only option with this message is to 'exit' and nothing gets uninstalled. Any solutions re how to uninstall this unwanted version? Thank you.

I request you to run this AVG Clear tool https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/AVG_Clear.exe to remove the AVG 2017 version traces.
