EasyACCT update being quarantined and can't restore

Hello, Carolyn

We will help you in this.

Thanks Dinesh.  I completed the repair successfully.  I tried a simple restore.  It failed with the same symptoms.  I then tried restore and add an exception.  It failed with the same Whoops! message also.  I then tried an extraction to a folder I created on the c: drive.  I got the same File can't be restored message.  I then changed my focus to the EZACCT application and started trying to restart it.  At some point, I found that the folder I had created for the extraction had an EZACCTW executable in it.  To make a long story short, I used that executable to recover the application.  I also later noticed that an exception for EZacctW.exe had been created.  It appears to me that I was getting the Whoops! File cannot be restored message in error?   Either way, I'm all set.   Thanks to both of you guys!

I was running automatic update for my EasyACCT application from Intuit.  On 6/4/2020, AVG quarantined the EZACCTW.EXE executable and rendered the application inoperable.  If I try to restore the executable I get a message stating, "Whoops! Error Occurred.  This file can't be restored".  Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you, Carolyn.
I am sorry to inform that the infections detected by Identity protection component in AVG cannot be restored from quarantine.
This is a known bug and our developers are working on a fix.

Mike, we're glad to know that you appear to be sorted now.
We'd like to know which AVG component has moved the file to quarantine to determine the reason for the error message.
I'd request you to take a screenshot (https://bit.ly/30ptlLh) of the quarantine window showing the file entry.

No worries.  Somehow the exception got created and I was able to get the application working again.  Thanks for your time.
